[Resolved] Jetpack Issues

    @gen3printing

    For some odd reason Jetpack disappeared from my Admin panel this morning. AFter doing some searching, I found on these forums to log into my FTP and delete the “Jetpack” folder from my plug-ins folders. I did so, and then went to reinstall the plugin. It installed without a hitch, but when I selected to Activate the plugin, I got the following error:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare stats_footer() (previously declared in /home/genprint/public_html/wp-content/plugins/stats/stats.php:194) in /home/genprint/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/stats.php on line 169

    Can anyone please assist in what’s going on? I really just want Jetpack to start working again… LOL

    Thanks in advance!

    FTP into your site (or use whatever file management application your host provides) & delete the wp-content/plugins/stats folder.

    The entire folder? Will this affect my website stats as they currently stand? I don’t want to delete anything potentially important!

    Thanks in advance for your help!

    I don’t think it will but if you’re concerned, just try renaming it. Or download a copy before deleting it. Right now, it’s conflicting with Jetpack which makes me think that it’s another stats plugins altogether.

    A-ha! Your last comment made me look at my already installed plugins, in which I noticed I had a WordPress.com stats plugin activated. I simply deactivated it, and now the Jetpack has been activated without a problem.

    THANK YOU for your assistance with this error! It’s greatly appreciated!!
