• Hi,

I am super new to wordpress.org (had been using wordpress.com for years, but this is a learning experience). I have been trying to get a follow button (jetpack) to work on my website (kaitmauro.com) and have had no luck. I don’t know if it is because my site is mostly not a blog — the only page for blog posts is kaitmauro.com/category/blog — or what, but if anyone has any ideas of how to get this follow button to show up and work, I would be so grateful. I don’t know much about programming or anything, I just downloaded the follow button jetpack plug-in and activated it. I have the rest of Jetpack running on my site already.

    Thanks!
    Kait

Could you try to install this Jetpack add-on?

If Jetpack is activated and connected to your WordPress.com account, this plugin should work just fine.

If that doesn’t help, could you post your site URL here so I can have a look?

    Hey Jeremy! Thanks for responding!

I think I did install it. At least I clicked on the plug-in from my dashboard, clicked “install now,” and it is “active” according to my list of plug-ins. Maybe I missed something though? I am really still figuring out this wordpress.org business — so I wouldn’t be surprised if I had.

My url is kaitmauro.com (the blog part that I want the plug-in on is kaitmauro.com/category/blog but it would be fine and good to have the button on all pages of the site).

Please let me know if you have any suggestions? I thought maybe the plug-in was just old and didn’t work anymore and I was very disappointed because I like having it there and I am losing so many readers from my old site on WordPress.com because they can’t follow this new one.

    Cheers!
    Kait

Once you’ve installed the plugin, you will want to clear the cache in your caching plugin, to make sure that the plugin is properly displayed on your site.

If that doesn’t help, I would suggest that you contact the plugin author here:

This Follow button is not developed by our team, so I’m not sure I’ll be able to help you more.
