Jetpack Error 500 in connecting to wordpress.com (4 posts)

I recently removed my installation of wordpress from my host (where I have 2 wordpress sites) because I was having errors with the widget area.
I recently reinstalled wordpress and I went to replace the plugins I had on the site (duebyfriday.com) and Jetpack will not connect to wordpress.com. This is the error I get when I try to connect to wordpress.com.

"Error 500 - Internal Server Error

An error was encountered while processing your request. Typically this is a temporary condition. Please contact the web site owner for further assistance."

I have no other plugins and have reinstalled both the wordpress files on my host and the plugin itself several times. I have contacted tech support from my host and they said it is not an issue on their end.

    I really appreciate any help.

Try checking your site's error logs for a more specific error message. Error 500 is too generic. Your hosts should be able to help you accessing your site's error logs.

It doesn't look like it is showing up in my error logs, so I contacted the host service via chat, and after 20 minutes of tinkering around, he was stumped as well. The error he was able to come up with is as follows:

"[Error] Premature end of script headers: admin.php, referer: http://duebyfriday.com/wp-admin/plugins.php?activate=true&plugin_status=all&paged=1&s=

Meaning it is leaning towards coding with the plugin or install of WordPress itself."

I will try installing wordpress manually, and hopefully that will do the trick or I am not sure how to address this problem, and any help is really appreciated. I really like the Jetpack plugin, and it is always the first thing I install. I've never had a problem with it before.

Does the problem disappear if you remove Jetpack? Do you have any other WP sites on the same physical server (as opposed to just with the same host)?
