Jetpack doesn’t change my file fotmat to WebP | WordPress.org

Hi!

I just installed the plugin hoping it will change my image format to WEbP. But it doesn’t work.

I inspected the site and checked in the Network > image > content type. It still shows JPEG.

Help is appreciated 🙂

Hi there,

I tested several of your site’s images in both Firefox and Chrome and they were served in WebP format.

What browser and what version are you using?

I used Chrome the lastest version I think. Can you please try again and see?

Hi there,

I noticed that Jetpack is not able to connect to your site due to xml-rpc being blocked: https://tools.jetpack.com/debug/?url=http://chalakornberg.com

Because of this I am not able to confirm your settings. Can you confirm that you have image acceleration turned on under the “Performance & speed” section here? http://chalakornberg.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack#/performance

If that setting is on, Jetpack will serve WEBP formatted images automatically, as long as the browser the site is being viewed in supports that format. You can see what browsers support WEBP here: https://developers.google.com/speed/webp/faq#which_web_browsers_natively_support_webp
