Support » Theme: Nuntius » Jetpack css stepping on slideshow controls

I’ve tried to fix this with CSS, but it’s very tedious and cumbersome. Unless there is some way to “de enque” the jetpack slideshow css, the most efficient solution seems to be disabling the jetpack plugin, however, I use many jetpack features.

With Nuntius being an Automattic theme, perhaps they have a better solution?

    Thanks for your help!

Steve, what exactly are you wanting to do with the slideshows?

The Nuntius theme comes with a slideshow of featured posts for a home page using the “news” template. I’ve tried disabling all individual jetpack options, yet the very presence of jetpack (activated) throws off the slider controls of the intrinsic slider. Jetpack Lite does not alleviate the problem either. I was using CSS to correct the jetpack problem, but ended up with a huge amount of CSS which was still wonky, when by disabling the entire jetpack plugin, the problem is cleared up.

It is unfortunate because I’m having to replace other jetpack functionality peacemeal.

My problem site is here (I will activate jetpack to show the problem) and the correctly working example is here.

    Thanks for your response sacredpath!

I finally beat it by throwing a bunch of CSS at it.

Steve, glad you have a solution. I’ll see if I can reproduce this and get a developer to make some adjustments to things. I expect it will require an update to Nuntius.

Anxious to see an updated Nuntius, I wasn’t sure if it was still being supported.

    Thanks for your input sacredpath!

Hey Steve, I just posted a separate thread as I am having the same exact issue with Jetpack

If it is something that will require a Nuntius update, any chance you would be able to walk a novice through what and where the CSS code has to be adjusted? Just thinking negatively here and exploring alternatives to replacing a theme or jetpack features with other plugins.

I’m still keeping my fingers crossed there is an easy fix for this somewhere.
