I’ve been over and over this, and I can’t figure out what’s going on.
Where in the twenty-eleven style sheet do I set the text color for the subscribe to comments? Right now it’s the same color as my background, and I just can’t find where the code is!

Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues. Create a child theme for your changes.

Then you need to add the relevant CSS to your child’s stylesheet. Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS work.

Well, firebug didn’t help me, but I did manage to find some code from another support thread.

display: inline !important;
}
