When installing Jetpack, you do not need to enter any API key. This API field might be added by another plugin like Akismet.

If you’re having trouble connecting Jetpack to WordPress.com, can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button.

    Thanks!

Thanks for that. I am sorry, I made a mistake. I was trying to get the “Jetpack Post Views” plugin working. That’s the one that asked for the API key, but wont work.

I have now put in the regular Jetpack though and it seems to be OK. The reason I was trying to just put in Jetpack Post Views is because that was the only stats I really wanted and figured it would be a smaller plugin.

Should I just go with the regular Jetpack now and forget Jetpack Post Views or if I just want post viewing stats should I still try and get Jetpack Post Views running and then remove the regular Jetpack plugin?

    Cheers…

Ah, Jetpack Post Views is now giving me a green light. So I guess it is working. But now the question is where do I go to see the view stas from that Plugin?

    Thanks again,

    Marc

Jetpack Post Views is a Jetpack add-on, and requires you to install and activate Jetpack first. That’s probably why you experienced issues when Jetpack wasn’t active.

If you have questions about this add-on, you can check the installation guide:

If you still experience issues, do not hesitate to contact the plugin author here:
