Jetpack and widgets incompatibility

  • ithacaindy

    @ithacaindy

    I’ve had to disable the Jetpack 2.02 plugin. When active, loading the widgets screen continues until Chrome asks if I want to kill the tab, or the widget screen loads, but the individual sidebar boxes won’t open to accept widgets. With the default WordPress theme, the widgets area won’t even appear for admins.

    Hi ithacaindy,

    I cannot reproduce the issue with JetPack 2.0.2 on the latest 3.5 RC5. It sounds like there may be a JavaScript issue with your theme or other plugins.

    With the default WordPress theme, the widgets area won’t even appear for admins.

    In 3.5, if there are no sidebars defined by the theme, the Appearance > Widgets menu doesn’t show. See #21761
