Hi @thepeoplesmovies –
Thanks for writing to us. I’d love to take a closer look. Can you install the last version of the plugin that was working on the site, and then run the URL through
https://jetpack.com/support/debug/
thanks for reply how to I find the previous version?
I did get a screengrab I sent to theme owners, I don’t know if it will help?

At the bottom of this page https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/advanced/ you’ll see a previous versions section with a blue highlighted bit of text. There’s a drop down menu, and you can choose 6.7 for installation from there.
just gotten a 404 error can’t seem to upload
tried it again been stuck in this
“Installing Plugin from uploaded file: jetpack.6.7.zip
Unpacking the package…” for 10 minutes now
any suggestions? Im still getting 404 errors attempting to get into plugins
Hi Liz, Just tried again, getting 404 error. It seems I’m the only one getting it, no one seems to help
Hi there,
If the failed 6.8 install’s files are still there on your server that might be preventing a new installation from taking place. And 6.8 itself might have failed to update due to a timeout on your server or a corrupted file, rather than a problem with the plugin itself.
Please access your site’s files via FTP at your hosting provider and completely delete the Jetpack folder at wp-content ->plugins ->jetpack
.
Then try manually installing the plugin as explained here:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins#Manual_Plugin_Installation
I’d recommend you immediately install 6.8 again, rather than an older version.
Hi found out from Webhost who was looking into 404 errors I was getting it was jetpack was causing 404 errors on my site, should I wait until jetpack is not in beta?
I’m not familar to ftp side of things and I don’t want to delete anything im not sure off,
thanks for update
Jetpack 6.8 is the current version of Jetpack, released two days ago. It’s not a beta release.
Can you please contact us at https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support so we can look into this in more detail? If you can also forward the error logs from your hosting provider that might help us find out what’s going on here.
Please mention this forum thread in your ticket as well.
Ive finally gotten version 6.7, the problem was jetpack causing 404 errors, at the moment the site been in maintenance mode for nearly 5 minutes trying to update to 6.8
just tried again, failed to update to version 6.8
Hi –
Were you able to delete the entire folder as @kokkieh mentioned? Go to your FTP access and click wp-content ->plugins ->jetpack
Use this guide to manually install the plugin once you’ve deleted the files.

I am having the same problems, jetpack has taken down two sites – and disabled itself on one
I found out it was the new theme I bought that was causing me the 404 errors, author is refusing to accept this, reverted back to old theme working fine now
