I installed WP 3.5.1 and Jetpack was automatically installed and activated.

Since I have no clue to what Jetpack does – even after browsing the Jetpack site – and since Jetpack shows up after registered subscribwers log in and they probably have no clue to wht Jetpack does, I am planning to deactivate the plugin.

Is there any reason why I shouldn’t?

    Thank you!

  • Jetpack is actually more like a suite of plugin-modules as opposed to being a single plugin with one use. You can find a full list of its features in http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/jetpack/

If you don’t want any of this, then you could always just try deactivating the plugin initially to see what – if any – effect this might have on your site.

    Dear Esmi,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I will deactivate the plugin and see what happens.
