# javascript question

 * I hate being such a n00b but…
    I followed the directions at: [http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Javascript](http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Javascript)
 * And then used the HTML link on the posting form to try and insert the following
   script:
 * <script type=”text/javascript” src=”[http://del.icio.us/feeds/js/dantodd”></script&gt](http://del.icio.us/feeds/js/dantodd”></script&gt);
 * into a post. Nothing showed up on the page and when I went back to view the HTML
   it came up like this:
 * <script type=”text/javascript” />
 * everything else was stripped out.
 * I also tried every variation of
 * <!–
    dantodd(); //–></script>
 * I could think of and none of them seem to be working. Any ideas?
 * I am running WP 2.0 on a hosted environment installed by “Fantastico” script.
   Everything else seems to work as expected!

 * Thanks for not beating me over the head for not RTFM. I blindly used the search
   box above.

 * In addtion to the directions in the codex you must turn off the visual rich editor(
   on the bottom of your “Users –> Profile” page) and I also installed the Text 
   Control plug-in but I am not sure if it is required.
