# javascript insert editor content issue

 * I’m trying to create a metabox that inserts html into the editor when a button
   is clicked.
 * I’ve been trying to use window.send_to_editor, but this seems to only fire when
   the thickbox media uploader is present. I’m not uploading any media files, rather
   just wanting to insert a shortcode derived from my metaboxes fields.
 * is there another method to insert content into the editor?

 * `send_to_editor(html);` works fine.
