Javascript in post (WP 2.1)?

I’m trying to put a simple little javascript within a post, but WordPress keeps adding slashes to my script’s content (in the “document.write” line).

WOuld anyone know how to remove the slashes so the script will work? I’m guessing it’s in the default-filters.php file, but I’m not sure what it is I need to comment out so I can let javascript run within a post.
