The favicon and #adminbar styles mods done by Multisite_Add_Admin_Favicon->set_favicon() cause a very annoying conflict with the Jarida theme (from Themeforest) both for admins and for anonymous visitors. A favicon.ico exists in the theme directory but it can and always will be replaced (because it is the theme dev companies own logo!) by a custom favicon in the theme options.

But as soon as Multisite Enhancements is activated, the default favicon overrules the custom one with the themes default again 🙁

I would not be surprised if more themes are set up the same way and suffer the same conflict.

If you set a favicon about the core solution, via Customizer, then should it use the favicon of the core, not from the theme directory.
    Can you test this?

Yes, when setting a favicon in the customizer, in the page source I now see three favicons loaded in this order:
    – the custom one from the theme options
    – the default one from the theme dir
    – the custom one from the core customizer

So yes, that last one is the one that is now visible but this is a bit much, no?

Is there no way to switch the Multisite Enhancements favicon insertion off? I agree it’s a nice feature (though not really an enhancement) when it works but when it fails it’s a bit of a nuisance…

(Don’t get me wrong, overall I find your plugin a blessing!)

Yes, you can deactivate the feature. But not via UI, only via hook – see this post on the wiki of the plugin dev repo. I hope this helps you.
