• I installed wordpress into a subdirectory the other day but wanted to install it in the root…I ended up deleting everything, uninstalling the wordpress application and trying to start from scratch. (I’m using GoDaddy btw) So I reinstalled everything with GoDaddy’s one click install, edited the wp-config.php file and am now trying to log onto my webpage so I can finish the last part of the installation. The problem is when I type in my domainname.com/wp-admin/install.php or any other root for that matter this message comes up in a seperate box:

“To view this page, you must log in to this area on mydomainname.com:80″

    User Backups

Your password will be sent unencrypted.

What am I doing wrong? How come I’m not automatically taken to the WordPress installation page? I’ve tried typing in several combinations of name/passwords but none of them work.

    Thanks in advance.

well I deleted it all again, reuploaded and now the web page says this….

    Not Found

The requested URL /wp-admin/install.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
