    Hey guys,

Saw that my podcasts weren’t appearing in iTunes, so went over to Podcast connect, and it said they’d “failed validation”. Resubmitted the feed of one yesterday, but now it’s showing neither of my podcasts (other one is this one), and when I submit either It gives a “failed validation” status and a “can’t parse your feed” message above it.

    Please help?

    Thanks

    Hi Jack,

Looks like that is the Series specific archive page for your show, but not the RSS feed URL. The feed URL for that show is https://www.jackdean.co.uk/feed/podcast/infinite-hex3/ – using that in Apple Podcasts should give you what you’re looking for.

Let us know how that goes.

    Now I’m getting

“Podcast artwork must be between 1400 x 1400 and 3000 x 3000 pixels, JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests.”

It’s showing old artwork and text though (the new artwork definitely fits all the above criteria, except maybe “http head requests” which I don’t know anything about).

    Any idea what’s going on?

    Thanks.

Looks like the image (https://www.jackdean.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/P-E-R-S-O-N-A-L-I-S-E-Y-O-U-R-B-R-A-N-D-2.png) is 1080x1080px. That’s the problem they’re reporting to you. If you can upsize that image to 1400x1400px to 3000x3000px you should be all set.

It shouldn’t be that image though? Should be this one.

I’ve deleted all the old versions, but it’s still referring to them. It’s also referring to an old version of the description. Any idea why?

It also seems like every time I submit the other one it keeps saying it’s in review, and then the next day it disappears from Podcast Connect (and still isn’t on iTunes). Sorry for the onslaught of queries, just thought I’d mention in case it’s all related somehow.

Excuse the nudge. Can anyone help with this?

Hi Jack, not sure why the submitted shows/feeds would be disappearing from your Podcasts Connect dashboard, other than the fact that they may not be getting approved and Apple is taking them out when that occurs.

As for the images I’d guess that you have some kind of image optimization plugin active on the site that’s making this happen. Do you know if you have any plugins like this? If so maybe disabling that plugin while you get that aspect of your show set, then submit the feed, then you could re-enable the plugin.

let us know how that goes.

I have WooCommerce? That’s the only thing I’ve installed since the problem occurred. Tried disabling that; same message, but now, instead of an old image, it just has none.

Thanks for all your suggestions so far. This is really doing my head in. Any other ideas on how I can fix it?

    Hello @jackdean,

It sounds like you may be having issues with your RSS feed. Take a look in a feed validator to see what may be up and what needs to be fixed https://support.castos.com/article/46-how-can-i-validate-my-podcast-rss-feed. Be sure that you have updated your categories for iTunes which recently changed, that your SSL cert matches what iTunes is looking for, that your server is correctly caching and that the artwork is available. When I look at the link you provide, it looks like the file is not available on your website. Is that artwork file being hosted locally or are you using a service through your host like Cloudflare?

Take a look at this help doc and let us know anything else you find out and we’ll try to help https://support.castos.com/article/72-itunes-can-t-read-your-feed
