    After much fiddling around I got it to work, and my page says this at the bottom:

    <!-- Gator Cached post on [2014-06-13 05:14:32] -->
    <!-- Served by Advanced Cache http://www.mysite.com -->

    But when I run a check in google page speed, it says:
    Leverage browser caching

    So is the page cached or not??

    If you're seeing the debug message in the page source, served by advance cache, this means the page was served by the WordPress cache handler. This cuts out alot of the overhead of serving the page. For even more performance you can use http caching.

    The Google Insights "Leverage browser caching" has nothing to do whether or not the page in question is served from a cache. This has to do with the web server's user of cache and expires headers. Typically you'd want to have a high expiration for content such as images, css and js. You can readily set this up with htaccess if you are using apache.
