Support » Plugin: Backup Migration » good for small websites

  • edit: a customer of mine hosts a lot of videos. total size is 2.2gb. the plugin “suggests” to upgrade to the pro version, wich i would, but my customer just hates any kind of subscription. whatever, my problem, but what i dont like about this plugin is that the suggestion to upgrade isnt optional, it wont let me create backups – not even if i exclude the uploaded files and the expected backup size is 28mb. so it effectivly stoped working after reaching a size of 2gb. i can think of a number of problems with backups this large anyway, but still. i dont think this happens a lot, so it might be an oversight by the devs. anyway, otherwise still an amazing plugin and i will continue to use it!

i tried a few different backup / migration solutions, and this works like a charm. its easy to use and the backups are small. for the same page a different plugin created a 216 mb file which was problematic with max upload size for me, this ones backups are 16mb which is way more reasonable for the rather tiny site im currently working on. using it for a week now and have no reason to complain at all. free version. πŸ™‚
