• I have SpamKarma2, Bad Behavior and Askimet installed. I’ve got that sk2_pjw_moderate plugin, too.

I blacklisted words in my WordPress discussion options that are supposed to send spammy commments directly to moderation.

I even forced my commenters to do a “preview-first” before they are allowed post a comment.

Yet the spam keeps on coming. It’s for phentermine, for viagra, for poker, for insurance, for hot teenage incestuous lesbians with big butts—and somehow it’s getting past all my force fields.

I’m running out of ammo, guys. The spam is about to start chowing down on my brains! Outside of turning off my comments, what should I do?

  • Geesh Rosie…. that’s awful! WHAT a PITA…. and I don’t have a thing to offer as options. Unless you start doing the IP Deny dance through your host cPanel?

Is it truly getting through and showing up as comments?
Or is piling up in the moderation queues?

I’ve been blacklisting IPs, but these losers keep changing IPs. They are truly Borg-like: they keep changing the frequency of their shields so nothing will stop them.

The IP lookups say they’re coming from Australia, Amsterdam, and Virginia, among other places–but those three locations provide the most frequent attackers.

Handy Solo, it shows up in the comments. It bypasses the moderation queue.

It’s like my WordPress moderation thingy got turned off, which is why I installed that SK2_pjw_moderate plugin.
