• I have a WooCommerce shop in Danish (fancyskirts.dk) where I discovered some problems with the lack of translation of auto-generated texts.

    E.g:
in my primary sidebar, I have inserted WooCommerce-cart, using the Widget-system. When you have selected an item, you get two options/buttons:
    1) View cart (not translated) and
    2) Check out (translated).

No matter, which button you choose you will be redirected to a page I created, but only containing the text string “[woocommerce_cart]”

If You select “Check out” everything is translated.
If You select “View cart” following elements are not translated:
    1) “Update cart”
    2) “Cart totals”
    3) “Proceed to checkout”

Anybody know how I have translated these lines?

I have now installed Loco Translate. (Works better than the old CodeStyling Localization)

I can see that only 75% of the lines are translated into Danish.

One problem is that I cannot using search: Ctrl+F. Well, luckily my lines where almost side by side.

The problem with making my own/local translations to the Woocommerce-plugin is that it will be overwritten next time there’s an update. So I just hope that the translation next time includes my additions.

And then there is my old soapbox: When you in English use the word “cart” on a click-button, you actually mean “the cart” and not “a cart”. But in Danish “a cart” = “en kurv” and “the cart” = “kurven”. Unfortunately, translation into local language is performed by volunteers and the local language grammar is not always correct. It would therefore be good if the front-end headers and press-button texts could be changed in the setup – but that’s another story.
