• I have used BackWPup for years. But I am very dissatisfied with the new update. The old jobs were simply stopped. Then one complete job (files & database) was turned into two. These were then automatically redirected to the web server. When I then wanted to change the destination address back to FTP, it was not possible to deselect the web server again. The new jobs now also automatically go to the web server. I therefore looked around for a new plugin and now deactivate BackWPUp on all projects.

    Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience — we understand how disruptive these changes have been, especially after years of using BackWPup reliably.

As of version 5.1.3, you can now restore and reactivate your old backup jobs created before version 5. We’ve published a detailed guide here in case you’d like to give it another try:
🔗 Restoring Legacy Jobs in BackWPup 5.1.3

Regarding the issue with not being able to deselect the web server as a destination — you’re right, and that feedback has come up from multiple users. We’re planning improvements here in a future update.

We genuinely appreciate your past use of the plugin and hope there’s a chance to win back your trust with the improvements we’re actively working on.
