• I’ve a big red box in my dashboard saying I am using an insecure browserand I need to update it. I’ve checked and I have the most up to date IE browser so confused. I am not getting this notice in any of my other wordpress sites. I am working on an ecommerce site and the products are not looking like they should.

I’ve checked the site in Mozilla and the page looks different. I worried because I can quite happily switch browsers but anyone using the IE browser will see the site wrong!

    Any advice?

  • What version of IE are you using?

    I am using 9.0.8112 16421

    thanks

That should be fine. Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress.

HI – thank you I have tried all of those and I still have the problem.

Hmm… My guess is that this is some sort of local issue. Do you have access to raw server logs? If so, can you identify your visits to the site? It might be interesting to see what headers are being sent by your browser.
