It is a process to get updates as a paying customer.

I paid for the pro version of this plugin. Simply getting an email saying a new version is available would be nice. A plugin feature would break, and I’d check the changelog on the company’s website. If an update were available, the only way to obtain it would be to email the company and request a download link. Due to this drawn-out process, I wouldn’t recommend purchasing the pro version of this plugin.
