Support » Networking WordPress » It doesn’t recognize the new subdomains on my network.

  • I have a mu subdomain setup and I made a new one. I can’t log into it though and I get this message:

    This site can’t be reached server IP address could not be found.
    • Checking the connection
    • Checking the proxy, firewall and DNS configuration
    • Running Windows Network Diagnostics

    I’ve parked correctly the subdomain.

    My .htaccess:

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    # add a trailing slash to /wp-admin
    RewriteRule ^wp-admin$ wp-admin/ [R=301,L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule ^ - [L]
    RewriteRule ^(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) $1 [L]
    RewriteRule ^(.*\.php)$ $1 [L]
    RewriteRule . index.php [L]
    # END WordPress

    My wp-config.php:

    /* Multisite */
    define('WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true);
    define('MULTISITE', true);
    define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', true);
    define('DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', '');
    define('PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/');
    define('SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);
    define('BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1);
    define( 'COOKIE_DOMAIN', $_SERVER[ 'HTTP_HOST' ] );
    define('ADMIN_COOKIE_PATH', '/');
    define('COOKIE_DOMAIN', '');
    define('COOKIEPATH', '');
    define('SITECOOKIEPATH', '');
    /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

    All the previous sites work fine. The only change that was done is the transfer to a new domain. What other information do you need to help you fix the issue?

  • That is purely a DNS issue… nothing to do with WP. You need to configure your DNS to point all subdomains to your WP IP address.
