I am currently working on the same problem (with W3TotalCache plugin).
After much research and deduction, I was able to determine that the problem is with the browser cache.
So you can disable browser cache in W3TotalCache plugin to fix it.
Hello @joska1993 , @noe5221 ,
Could you please be more specific about what does not work with the cache plugins? Clicking the download links doesn’t download the files ( just tested this but it does )? Could you give a use case?
Warmly,
Razvan
@raldea89 the file starts to download but the download is paused
@joska1993 could you please tell me what operating system you are using?
@raldea89 is a shared hosting under linux
@joska1993 I am talking about your OS. Tested something and it seems that files that are hosted on other domains than your main domain will not be downloaded on Macs, only Windows ( did not test on Linux ). Are you trying to download files hosted on other domains?
@raldea89 mine is Windows and does not download
@joska1993 are the files hosted on your domain or from other sources? Could you please give a link to the page with the download so I can test it and see if I can find any problems?
@raldea89 are in my domain

Is it possible to send us a list of your plugins? That would really help us narrow the issue down.
Thank you so much for all your help.

After much research and deduction, I was able to determine that the problem is with the browser cache (for my case). More precisely, it comes from the gzip compression.
The easy way to solve the problem is to disable gzip compression in W3TotalCache plugin. This solution is not optimal and i need to use gzip, so I continue my research.
