To see if it would make any difference, I changed the tripadvisor url from .co.uk to .com and the plugin downloaded all the reviews. Hope this may help others facing the same issues I did.

The co.uk link version should be accepted as well, it should not cause any problems.
Could you check if you’re using the latest version of the plugin?
If you do and a similar issue occurs, please try recreating the plugin. To re-create the plugin, go to the “Advanced” menu and click the “Re-create” button to reset it. Then, in the “Free Widget Configurator” tab, follow the setup steps again to properly configure the plugin.
