Hi, I have a MU install, I have tried to network activate your plugin and nothing on the main site menu, I have tried to activate your plugin on the main site only and nothing on the menu. I don’t know why… Could you please tell me the URLs to access your plugin and its options in the admin section? Moreover, should it be network activated or activated in the main site?

    Thanks!

PS: I have the latest versions of WP and BP.

    Hi,
I am sorry for the delayed reply. I thought I replied it yesterday but somehow missed.

    1. please network activate the plugin.
    2. Please visit your main site dashboard( technically, you will find the menu to create member types on the blog which is set as BP ROOT Blog). If you haven’t set it, It is the main site.

Please check and let me know.

    Hi, thanks for answering.

Strange… I did it earlier as you said (network activate and go to the main site dashboard). Now, I did it again. No trace of your plugin’s menu.

Could you please tell me the URL for me to try to access directly? Is it “domain.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=” and what else?

    Thanks again!

    Hi,
I am sorry for the trouble.

Can you access this page on your site?

    http://example.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=bp-member-type

Please replace example.com with your site’s url and see if it is accessible?

I still believe problem lies somewhere else, If it is not too much trouble, can you please get in touch via my site’s contact form. I will be happy to look into the site and assit you.

    Hi Brajesh,

Yep! Accessing directly it perfectly works! But no menu in my MU install. Perhaps some conflict with some other plugin. No big deal, I can create a menu item in my functions.php, however, how about setting the menu as submenu of “Users” in the next release?

    Thanks a lot!

    Ricardo.

    Hi Ricardo,
    Thank you for the reply.

If you find the culprit for the plugin, please do let me know and It will help me to make it even better.

I like your suggestion about putting it under user menu. I will certainly look into it. That will free up the extra top level menu( I am not a big fan of using top level menu, so your idea makes much sense to me 🙂 )

    Brajesh,

Just a short note to tell you that there is no conflict with any plugin. The problem was that I had written in my theme’s functions.php a stupid function to create an extra admin menu separator and it was preventing your plugin to appear in the menu. As I rewrote the function (a bit smarter one), your plugin now normally appears on the menu. You know, beginners often do these types of mistakes… LOL!

Thanks for the attention and keep up the great work you do!

    Ricardo.

    Hi Brajesh,
thanks for your awesome plugin, and thanks for all the buddypress snippets you’ve published on your site, you’re saving my life!
i’m sorry to inform you that i can’t see BP mmeber type genarator menu in my wp admin, but i can access directly to it :
    wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=bp-member-type

i’m on the tatest wp version and it’s not a MU install

    Hi,

BP Member type isn’t showing up in my dashboard menu. I am not using multisite. I have entered the link and can get to the settings page through the url. I am not a coder, so I do not know how to add the menu link to my menu bar. Can I send you a link privately to my dashboard?

Also, is there any known conflict with S2 member. I don’t use it to segment members.

Lastly, how do i get the front end select option, so that users can choose their profile type on registration?

    Thank you.

    Hi All,
It is most probably a conflict with some plugin. If we can pinpoint that, I will update the plugin to fix that.

    @droach
Please Pm me the link via my site.
To use the front end option, please use BuddyPress Xprofile Member Type Field Plugin. It is not yet on the wp plugin repo(I will be pushing it sometimes next week). For the time being please use it from BuddyDev
    http://buddydev.com/plugins/bp-xprofile-member-type-field/

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you
    Brajesh

    Hello again.

I have also downloaded BP Xprofile Member Type Field, so that users can select their user type from the bp registration form. However, it is not showing up in the menu either.

Do I need both of these?

    Thank you.

    (@sbrajesh)

    Hi,
That plugin will not appear in Menu. Please visit Users->Profile Fields and add a new profile field. There you can select “Single Member type” from the field type dropdown. Yes, You will need both of these for now. In future, If there is a demand, I am willing to integrate these two together as part of Member type generator.

    Hope that helps.
