Issues with the direct link

    Greetings Ross,

    I just updated the plugin and I am having difficulties with the free downloads function. When I add the link and test to download it doesn’t, it sends me to a cannot display page. These are the steps that I am following:

    1. create a new download
    2. upload the document(word doc) from my computer
    3. create the link with the tool, direct link
    4. Test

    I am not sure what I am doing wrong, please help!

    G’day velepatr,

    The download must be in a place that is accessible from the website — like your WordPress media library, or DropBox, or wordpress.org etc. It sounds like maybe you loaded the document through Easy Digital Downloads, which puts it into a folder that cannot be accessed from the web; it does that to ensure that downloads requiring a license can only be accessed after purchase. Remove that document and load it through the media library, then get the link to it from there.
