Hello! I have been working on this for 24 hours and have searched the forum and haven’t had any luck fixing the issue.

I am based in Australia and will only be selling to Australia so tax is standard 10% GST.

I have entered prices for products excluding GST.

Under WooCommerce settings I have the following:
    – disabled automated taxes (if I went with the standard, it would add GST twice at checkout)
    – calculated tax based on shop address (I’ve read different things in forum posts about this so not entirely sure what it actually should be)
    – display price in shop includes tax
    – display price during cart and checkout include tax

I have tried every combination of settings you can think of and nothing works. Currently, with the settings above, the price shown in the store and at checkout does not include GST and tax isn’t added at checkout either.

It is important for me to have GST inclusive prices in both the store and at checkout.

I would be really grateful if someone could give me some advice regarding this.

    Thanks so much.

    Denise

    Hi there Denise,

It sounds like you have most of the settings correct to display taxes the way you want — just a few last points:

calculated tax based on shop address (I’ve read different things in forum posts about this so not entirely sure what it actually should be)

For this part, “Calculate tax based on shop address” sounds like it should work for what you are trying to do — as long as your Shop base address (under WooCommerce > Settings > General) is set to an Australian address, and you will only be selling to customers in Australia, so 10% GST for everyone.

After that, you will need to make sure there is a tax rate entered in the “Standard rates” table that applies 10% tax to your shop base address.

We have information about setting those tax rates up available here:
    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/setting-up-taxes-in-woocommerce/#section-12

Once that is added, then all customers should have taxes calculated based on your Shop address, which should have tax calculated at 10% based on the tax rate you enter in the table mentioned above.

If you are still having issues, then please send screenshots of your current settings under WooCommerce > Settings > Tax, as well as the Standard Rates table, and your General settings (with shop base address). I recommend https://snipboard.io for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in your reply here.

    I hope that helps!
