Support » Plugin: LDD Directory Lite » Issues with Sort Order

  • I’m encountering varied issues with the sort order:

The “listing sort order” works for random and ID with pagination, yet if I choose “Business Name” the titles are shown only for the number of listings on the page (eg. 10), and all subsequent pages show the same 10 listings? If I leave the “listings pages show at most” field empty to show all listings then all the business names are shown, alphabetized; so to be clear, the title/business-name is only conflicting with pagination.

I tried using the shortcode, yet adding this to the directory page did not affect the listing sort order; it is overridden by the “listing sort options” in directory settings.

The shortcode I added, per FAQ, was:

    [directory cat_order_by=”title” cat_order=”asc” fl_order_by=”random” fl_order=”asc” list_order_by=”business_name” list_order=”asc”]

I’ve also found that the listing sort order type also results in the category sort type and the search page type having the same sort order type.

Up to this point I’ve used “ID” with the pagination, which would work to list by name “if” I could adjust the ID or otherwise change the sort order manually.

I would appreciate guidance on getting the “Business name” default sort order working with pagination, or some other way to get the listings to display alphabetically. Thanks in advance.

Well, I was able to resolve the issue. I installed the “post types order” plugin, using the asc/desc option with drag/drop. I was then able to manually alphabetize the entries. Not ideal for large directories, but it works. For reference, I’m using the Avada theme, with the list sort options of “ID”, “DESC”, 10 listing per page.

Thanks for using our plugin, did you check backend options for sorting? also do you have updated version of the plugin? I will test the issue in Avada theme.

I have the order set to ‘random’ but it doesn’t re-sort when page is refreshed
    I have the latest version
