Support » Plugin: WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway » Issues with product variations when client is paying with paypal checkout

I have no idea why, but in backend in order are much more details about the product if the customer is paying with paypal checkout. And so this meta data is also on the invoice.

    Meta details like this:

    nonce: 3a314e6eec
    quantity: 1
    ppec-add-to-cart: 13215
    product_id: 13215
    variation_id: 13310

I don’t have this situation with other payment gateway plugins and also not with paypal standard. Just PayPal Checkout is producing this meta values in every order position.

Any idea how I can fix this to get rid of this details in the single position of the order?

Just discovered exactly the same problem.

For me, it only seems to happen when I use the Buy Now button on a Single Product with Variations.

The emails that go out to the Customer, the order displayed in the backend, and the info shown on the PayPal site all include the genuine variation info (Colour: Blue for example), but it also shows the nonce, ppec-add-to-cart, quantity, product_id and variation_id as part of the Variation Data:

    nonce: xxxxxxxx
    Frame Type: None
    Print Size: A3 (297 x 420 mm)
    quantity: 1
    ppec-add-to-cart: 216
    product_id: 216
    variation_id: 285

If I add the product to the Basket using the standard Add to Cart button, then it works fine, so it appears to be a problem with the PayPal button.

Only option I have at the moment is to disable PayPal for the Single Product pages.

WordPress and all plugins are up to date:

    WordPress: 5.0.3
    WooCommerce: 3.5.4
    WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Gateway: 1.6.9

There does seem to be a bug report of this on GitHub – https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-gateway-paypal-express-checkout/issues/498

No feedback on this yet? I have been having the same issue. Wasn’t happening before the latest updates, but just noticed it this past week as well. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi all,

I have tested a variable product on a test site with PayPal Express Checkout and it seems OK. We just updated to 1.6.10 which addressed an issue with product attributes and variations; please update to this version and re-test, then let us know if it still does not work.

Now it’s broken variations altogether. We’re getting orders with no Size and/or colour.

    Hi @dannyboy9

Could you help us by opening a new thread since your issue doesn’t apply to this specifically? I tested variations with PayPal Checkout and everything works as expected.

If you’re still having troubles try switching back to a default theme like Twenty Nineteen and disabling all plugins except for WooCommerce and PayPal Checkout to see if this resolves the issue.
