Issues with form plugins

  • I have downloaded and installed “contact form 7” allowing users to e-mail us. Within the form is an option to upload a text file, and another option for an audio/visual file. If someone were to send a file(s) where does WordPress save that file for me to retrieve it? There’s no file (or link to the file) in the e-mail sent.

    Thanks!

I found the information on this page: http://contactform7.com/file-uploading-and-attachment/

Problem is I’m running WordPress 3.5.1 and the site above clearly indicates Settings ->Media would have the options I need to specify a folder or settings for media attachments. What I see instead in Media Settings is image sizes (thumbnails), and below that is organizing media files with a checkbox for organizing by month/year folders.

The option to change the destination of the uploads folder was removed from the user interface in WordPress 3.5 and moved to the wp-config.php file. If you haven;t customised the uploads folder location in wp-config.php, all media files will be uploaded to wp-content/uploads – possibly in year/month folder if you have that option ticked in Settings -> media.
