  • Hello,

    This is not a new install but an update. It worked beautifully before. Now when I try to add a youtube video (like the others), I receive this message: Fatal error: Call to a member function attributes() on a non-object in /home/leafsco/public_html/wp-content/plugins/cool-video-gallery/lib/youtube.php on line 43

    Please advise, thanks.

    Hi Praveen! It’s Pascal again from Twitter. I really need your help. Your player breaks somehow the links and buttons I created in my template. the buttons I use for going to a next page when the visitor finished the video and playlist on that page. It only happens when I hit the play button on an iPad. Other devices with Android and Windows 8 are doing just fine.

    Strange thing, when I refresh the page, everything works till I hit play. I even can’t enlarge an image from the gallery I put on the page.

    What could be wrong?

    And it also seems that when the video is finished playing I can hit the buttons again and enlarge an image I added on the same page as the Gallery. It’s only on iPad and Iphones.

    Something must break the code on Apple devices? The Gallery itself doens’t work either. I cannot go to the next video in the playlist during play.

    Lol! I installed JW Player for WordPress plugin and now the Gallery Playlist works on iPad!

    What could be the reason? Is it because JW Player for WordPress loads the .js in the header?

    @praveen I also encountered problem with newly uploaded mp4 files when playing only has audio and no video, i.e. it’s black screen with sound. I read that someone experienced the same problem as well. Well, in the past version 1.7, there wasn’t this problem. Please look into this. If more than one person encountering the same problem , it has to be some bug there…

    Thanks.

    @praveen

    Just to add, the video files I uploaded via CVG plays OK on my computer using quicktime. But after uploaded to the website over CVG it only has audio but video isn’t shown.

    Is the video you uploaded into CVG gallery playable after downloading it into machine?

    Regards,
    Praveen Rajan

    @praveen

    Yes Praveen, I downloaded the mp4 file directly from CVG, though the player can’t play the video (only has audio), the downloaded file can be viewed on my mac just fine.

    @praveen

    Just want to update you. I tested with another video file mp4 but that one worked fine, audio+video. So the others that I reported didn’t work must be some encoding problem. I will re-encode those mp4 files then re-upload again. That should be ok.

    Thanks anyway :P.

    I am having the same problems as sc0rpiongirl. I am using the 1.8 version of CVG. I uploaded a video (mp4 format) directly from my computer files. It plays fine in quicktime and Dell media player. However, when uploaded to my blog you can only hear sound and see no video at all.

    Additionally, I can see the video is posted in my Home page widget 3 at the bottom of the homepage as long as I am logged in using wp-admin. If I look at my site from any other computer the home page widget 3 area is just the default box, not my content that I have entered at all. Again, it is there when looking at it under wp-admin privileges but not otherwise.

    Any words of advice????
    Thanks

    The video issue is due to incorrect format. The above posts says the same and the answer to it.

    So meaning the answer to the problem is to recode the video file? I am a complete newbie to wordpress and have never done HTML coding or file writing.

    Can anyone give me some tips on how to recode my mp4 video file and use it within the CVG plugin?

    Thanks very much!

    I upgraded from CVG 1.7 to 1.8 and can no longer get the “Scan Gallery Folder” button to do anything. I uploaded a new .m4v file, the permissions are correct, yet when I click the button nothing happens. I’m just starting to use CVG, so I don’t have a lot of experience, but this seemed to work just fine under CVG 1.7. I have yet to find any server logs that indicate the issue. Let me know what I can do to help debug this.

    Thanks!

    This is not related to HTML coding or file writing. These are some video encoding operations using some tools. Check other threads in this forum to know more details on this.

    As stated in the previous post in this thread, could you check if your database tables for CVG are updated properly?
