    Hey,

I’m having an issue using this plugin. I have the Notification Bar showing on the website but when I go to Customise, it just doesn’t load anything.

I have disabled all plugins except for this one and it still doesn’t work. I have also disabled just this plugin and then it works.

Wondering if you have any ideas what could be causing this? I created the Theme myself but I’m not crazy advanced when it comes to it. I added the wp_body_open to the header.php so the bar shows just cannot customise.

    Any help?

    Thank you,
    Daniel

    Hey Daniel,

This is AJ the plugin author. I double checked with the latest version of WordPress and double checked the code and I’m not seeing any issue. I recorded a video of my test: https://a.cl.ly/12urmYLW

Is your WordPress installation and PHP version all up to date? Also do you see any errors in your server logs or browser console? Thanks!

    Hey Aj,

Only just seen that you’d replied here.

It looks like it may be an issue with my custom theme if I’m honest as I’ve changed to the Twenty Twenty theme and it seems to be working as it should be. There doesn’t seem to be any errors showing in the console or logs either.

I’ll keep looking into it to try find a fix from my side and let you know if I can figure it out. As I said I’m not the greatest when it comes to making themes, this was one I just made for a friends business while I was bored.

    Thank you,
    Daniel

    Hey,

Just a quick update, I’ve had a look at the console and noticed this error message popping up when loading into the Customizer.

    See image here.

Wonder if this means anything to you, I’ve tried Googling it but nothing seems to help.

    Thank you,
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,

Looks like I didn’t get any email from WordPress that you replied either so I apologize for the delay 🙁

That error in the console could definitely cause issues, but there isn’t enough info on the screenshot for me to help you as it’s not showing where the error is coming from exactly. Any chance you want to share your custom theme, I’d be happy to take a look.

A good way to troubleshoot your theme would be to remove parts of the functions.php file to see what part maybe breaking things.

A lot of time when I see people creating their first themes, errors come from copying/pasting code from tutorials that maybe outdated or have incorrect code. So if this is something you are doing, be a bit careful. Even a quality blog may have outdated code, the best and only place I would really recommend getting example snippets for your custom theme from would be the official CODEX – https://codex.wordpress.org/

    Hey Aj,

Yeah it did it again, I didn’t receive an email either 🙁

I’ll have a look later once I’ve finished work and have time to do so. I have done exactly what you said and done quite a bit of copy and paste so understand if some code is out of date.

I’ll let you know what happens 🙂

Thank you so much for the help so far 🙂

    Hey,

Did some troubleshooting a minute ago and removed all the custom code that I copy and pasted into functions.php and it still didn’t work.

I can upload the theme somewhere for you to look but please don’t judge my code ahah it isn’t the prettiest.

Let me know where to send it 🙂

    Hi Daniel,

Ha no worries, I won’t judge if you want to share. I can provide feedback though if you wanted.

Did you try disabling plugins? I wonder if perhaps there is some plugin causing a conflict but only when used together with your theme.

Also is your WordPress installation all up to date?

    – AJ

ps: I did get the email this time, hopefully I get it next time 😉

    Hey,

    I didn’t but I keep checking it now 🙂

I have tried disable all plugins and doing a complete fresh install of WordPress also. Everything is up to date apart from one plugin but I have tried to update it and it still nets the same issue. It only does it once the Easy Notification Bar plugin is enabled.

I’ve removed everything from my functions.php and even gone through each file to see if there was something possibly effecting it but couldn’t find anything.

I’ve uploaded the template here you will need to have WooCommerce installed as it brings up a load errors if it isn’t 🙂

    Thank you again,
    Daniel

It’s breaking my customizer as well… I’m seeing one warning and two errors in the console… when I disable the plugin, then the customizer works fine.

@mmcdiv – I requested access to the file so I can check out your template.I tested myself again on the latest version of WordPress and WooCommerce without any issues. But I am pushing out an update shortly with some fixes so please do try updating first just incase.

@mywebmaestro – I tested again on the latest version of WordPress and it’s working just fine, but I do see the warnings which I am patching and submitting a fix in a few moments for, hopefully this fixes your issues with the customizer not working. If the update doesn’t work please let me know!
