Issues with checking URLs from WordPress.org

First, thank you for this useful plugin. It’s been working great for years, but suddenly all links that point to wordpress.org, like https://codex.wordpress.org/..., are showing as “Connection failed”, with no response from the server reported under “Details”. And checking the links in a browser, they all point to pages that exist and load normally.

Related: when clicking the “Recheck” link for any broken link, if the link is still broken, the “Wait..” message appears and does not go away. And clicking on another “Recheck” link (while a previous “recheck” is “waiting”) causes the site to crash (server timeout). This has never happened in the past, in my experience.

Hopefully someone can help, would love to continue using this plugin without having to fork it and fix these minor issues myself. Thank you again for an otherwise great plugin.
