  • Hi there,

    I am experiencing an 504 gateway timeout issue with nginx when trying to send mail via smtp.office365.com on port 587 with my email address and password being used as authentication.

    I have also tried Gmail without success, but did get success using my webhosts unauthenticated smtp using port 25

    The logs i get from my host show the following error

    3329426#0: *52429853 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream

    Can you please advise if I have something set incorrectly or do I need to have some settings changed from my hosting provider to make this work?

    Thanks for your response. I started there with my host but have been unable to make any progress with them and they have directed me at plugin support.

    Does it sound like port 587 is blocked in some way?

    Hi, if the port is blocked on your server try a different setup. For example: SSL and port 465.
