• Hi Everyone,

    I tried upgrading to v. 2.8.2 yesterday and had some issues. The dashboard would fully load, the post editor won’t load my content, the page editor won’t load at all, and the plugins section won’t display my plugins at all. Prior to the upgrade, everything worked fine. My blog has been up and running for several months now.

    I asked my hosting provider to roll back my upgrade to which they did, but the same issues are still there. These issues weren’t happening before the upgrade. What’s more, my hosting provider says they have no issue if they look at the admin panel from a Mac.

    I’m using Windows 7, and have tried admin panel on Firefox, Opera, and reluctantly on IE8. None of them worked. Thinking it might be my laptop causing the issue, I tried it from a Vista desktop with Firefox, and the issue persists.

    Does anyone have any ideas as to what’s causing it and how to fix it? Thanks in advance for your help.

    -Jay

  • have you had anyone else running windows look at the admin area?

    thats probabaly what I would do. have a friend, someone you trust, look at if from their machine.

    Hi,

    -> Disable all the plugins either from FTP [renaming plugins directory] or disable from database
    -> reinstall wp-admin and wp-includes folder with all the files and folders.
    -> upgrade wordpress to 2.8.3

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

    @whooami: I had tried it from a Vista machine as well as Windows 7, and from three different browsers. Not sure why it would show up on a Mac but not Windows, since PHP code works through a browser, not a client-side OS, per se.

    @shane G: I’ll give that a try. Would reinstalling the wp-includes hose my theme at all? I’ll also try to upgrade to WP 2.8.3.

    Thanks guys, I appreciate the help with this. I’ll report back how it went.
