 * The site I’m working on is: [http://wp.connectseward.org/sewardmemoriallibrary/](http://wp.connectseward.org/sewardmemoriallibrary/)
 * What I’d like is for the sub menus to be the same width as the primary menu

   and the site width – 960px – but they continue off the right side of the page
   wider than 960px.
 * I’ve worked through the documentation on the Max
    Mega Menu site to adjust the
   menu width and that seemed to work ok: [http://www.maxmegamenu.com/documentation/faqs/adjust-menu-width/](http://www.maxmegamenu.com/documentation/faqs/adjust-menu-width/)
 * The problem comes when I try to adjust the sub menu width per the
    documentation
   here: [http://www.maxmegamenu.com/documentation/faqs/adjust-sub-menu-width/](http://www.maxmegamenu.com/documentation/faqs/adjust-sub-menu-width/)
 * I’ve tried Fixed Width but I don’t want the sub menus aligned to the
    parent
   item. I’ve tried 100% for Percentage (the one I think should work best) and my
   menu still runs off the right side of the page instead of ending at 960px. I
   played around with Dynamic Width also with no luck. Is there something with my
   theme that is causing it not to work properly?

 * Hi meg,
 * You’re correct – the Panel Width should be set to 100%.

 * Thanks for sharing that link with info specific to the Nirvana theme. Unfortunately
   I am working within a multi-site WordPress set-up and don’t have an “Editor”
   option under Appearance. I guess that means I’m probably out of luck?

 * Hi meg,
 * Not necessarily, you could use an FTP client to edit the file directly on your
   server. You’ll find it in the wp-content/themes/nirvana folder.

 * Even via FTP I can’t edit files on the server because in a multi-site set-up
   it would change the theme for everyone. Even if the code change wouldn’t cause
   problems for others using the same theme, the change would be wiped out whenever
   the theme is updated and would require manually editing the code each time. I’ve
   switched to the tempera theme, but I see that it also requires a code change
   like nirvana did.
    My server administrator made the code change temporarily,
   so I could see if it would fix the issues I was having with the menu in mobile
   and it did. Unfortunately, they won’t stay past the next time the theme is updated.
   🙁

 * Hi meg,
 * It sounds like setting up a child theme would solve both problems:
 * 1. You can apply it to just the one site
    2. You wont lose the changes when the
   theme is next updated
 * Regards,
    Tom
