    Hello,

I am writing to report an issue I encountered while creating a new topic in the WordPress.org forum. When I attempt to underline text using the formatting options, the forum renders the text with HTML tags instead of underlining the text.

This unexpected rendering behavior is causing confusion and impacting the readability of posts. I expect the underline formatting to work correctly without any additional HTML tags.

Could someone please investigate this issue and provide a resolution? I appreciate any help you can offer.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

<span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>Example: This is an example of the underline text.</span>

    Best regards,
    TheSheryar

I saw that the span tag itself isn’t getting rendered properly.

Hmm, it looks like you’re right.

In a previous version of the forums, we had removed the ability to underline text, as it could be confused for a link by colorblind folks.

    I’ll report this upstream.

    Hi @thesheryar

Thanks for sharing the issue with Underline, I’m using this response to test the other various formatting options too. Strike Sub Super Keyboard Input Inline Code <bdo lang=”ar” dir=”rtl”>Language</bdo> Bold Italic Link

    This is justified.

    Edit: Again, Underlined, and Language
