 * I did a few checks around in the search, but didn’t really see an answer for
this problem. The theme that is currently being used at [http://trishmillet.com/blog/](http://trishmillet.com/blog/)
isn’t showing correctly (McFire-2.0), and I’m very new to WordPress. I have not
modified any theme myself, only placed the theme folder for this in the correct
   folder. Could anyone help, please?

 * Thanks for the URL to show the validation – I had already done this, and to be
honest, I’m not even sure where to start. Liek I said, I am completely new to
this, and haven’t modified anything. Providing me with this information is not
that helpful to me. Perhaps you could point me in the right direction as to how
to make the modifications necessary to fix it?

 * Well, I am not familiar with the theme, so here is my (educated) guess.
    The
errors _might_ come from the theme’s template files – although very unlikely.
To check it: switch to another theme and validate: if you see the same errors…
then we have to go into our second suspicion:
 * The errors are caused by the blogger = you!
E.g. by using the idiotic wysiwyg
editor, by copying snippets, code that is not XHTML etc.
 * On that validation page check the “Show Source” box, and click Revalidate.
    Every
error line # will become a clickable link that takes you to the exact location
of the error. Also, read carefully the error report: usually, half of the solution
   is given to you!

 * OK, I fixed every error on the validation page, however, the sidebar still appears
in the main column. Additionally, the main theme also appears with problems,
as the sidebar is all the way at the bottom of the page. That page validates
   fine.

 * However, if you click on the ‘My friend, my neighbor, Marie’, the sidebar straightens
   out. Anyone have any idea?

 * It appears that the same code is being used on both the initial page and the ‘
My friend, my neighbor, Marie’ page. I can’t distinguish between the difference
in the two sources. Anyone see anything there that would cause this behavior?

 * Fixed it, there were some <div> elements in a post. Replaced them with elements.
