I have recently upgraded to version 2.4.2, and my WordPress version is 6.6.2.
After the update, I noticed that I am unable to edit tables. When I click on the edit button, a blank page appears without any error message. However, I am still able to edit in troubleshooting mode.

    Hi!

Thanks for your post and sorry for the trouble!

My feeling is that there’s either a server issue or an issue with the update not running correctly.
As a first step, please try re-installing TablePress from a fresh download. For that, please go to the “Plugins” screen on your site and Deactivate and then Delete TablePress. Then, please re-install it via
“Add New”. (No worries, your tables and settings will be kept during this process.)

If the issue still happens after that, we should try getting more error information. For that, please set the WP_DEBUG constant to true in your site’s “wp-config.php” file, see https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/debug/debug-wordpress/#wp_debug, or maybe check the server’s error log file (if you don’t have access to that yourself, you web host company’s support team should have access).

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Thanks for your quick response. I deleted and re-installed the plugin as you recommended which didn’t work. I checked the server’s error log file and there wasn’t any error for today. The last error was for 28 Sep.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    Hi,

ok, then please try what I suggested regarding WP_DEBUG above. After that, you should not be getting a blank screen, but some error information.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

Thank you for your reply. I tried setting WP_DEBUG to “true”, but after making the changes, I was unable to access my WordPress dashboard.

    Hi,

ok, but did you see any error messages? If you could not access the dashboard, there definitely where PHP errors that should be visible in the PHP error log files.

    Regards,
    Tobias

I too am having a major issue after upgrading to 2.4.2.
I have a table (ID=3) and the Page containing this Ref ID has no changed.

When I go into Tablepress, table 3 looks fine with all rows/columns and entries.

However, when the Page is shown, I get the view below. So not table and just raw text from the table.
    What has gone wrong?

    Hi @hashah3,

Thanks for your post. (Next time, please start a new thread here in the forums, to keep things separated.)

I’m not sure that I understand your issue, as I can’t see your image and there’s no link. Could maybe upload the image elsewhere (e.g. at imgur.com) and post the link to the image and also the link to the page here?

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Hi,

I went to cPanel >>>> metrics >>>> errors, and there weren’t any new errors.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

unfortunately, I don’t know what else to suggest here then, sorry. Please get in touch via the email address from the bottom of https://tablepress.org/pricing/ so that we can consider other approaches.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

I have emailed you my image files and explanation.

    Hi,

as a follow up for everybody seeing this thread: hashah3’s problem was caused by a separate plugin that was striping the HTML tags from the table output.

lexinicclinic, please feel free to get in touch, as mentioned above.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Hi,

I deleted the plugin again and reinstalled it, and surprisingly it worked this time and the problem is now solved.

    Thanks

    Hi,

awesome! That’s great to hear! This indicates that WordPress somehow could not properly copy some files during the update. Now everything should indeed be fine again 🙂
