    Hey @trumani,

I already posted this issue on github, but I’m not sure whether that’s still the right place for support given the change of ownership, so I’m reposting my issue here:

I love the plugin as it significantly reduced the amount of spam on my system. Unfortunately I noticed recently that it is also blocking the webhook information being send by Stripe via Stripe Connect back to Memberpress, thus while the payment goes through, the information that the payment was successful is blocked by StopSpammers and thus then not processed.

If I switch on the “Only Use the Plugin for Standard WordPress Forms” option, it works indeed fine, but as I’m using other forms for registration than the standard WP forms, I then also end up with spam accounts 🙁

Is there any way to whitelist the webhook information from stripe? I can see that it’s blocked in the backend, but I haven’t found an option to whitelist it due to it being neither an email / ip?!

Any help would be highly appreciated!

    Kind regards, Philip

  • Hi Philip, thank you for the great feedback! I appreciate you posting here. I am new to using GitHub, so I have to learn the ropes first.

To your question, I am actually working on an allow option for more payment gateways, Stripe included in v2020.1. I don’t have a timeline for it’s release, but it is in alpha. If you would like to try it, please contact me with your email here: https://trumani.com/contact/.

The configuration to allow Stripe whitelists IPs. It’s possible not all IPs they use to send the webhook will be covered by the allow. In that case, you may want to disable the configuration called “Block Invalid HTTP_REFERER”. This is a broader allow and may let spam creep in, but it’s possible that will do the trick.

    Warm regards,

    Ryan

    Dear Ryan,

thanks for your quick feedback 🙂 I have disabled the configuration you suggested and will monitor the spam development. Otherwise I’ll contact you again for the beta version!

Thanks so much and have a nice weekend!

    Kind regards, Philip

Happy to assist! I’ll leave this ticket open a couple days in case the config change does not resolve the issue.

If you think of it, please leave a review. It makes a huge difference and can help guide others to the best option.
