Hi! I’ve run into an issue with inventory on a simple product. I’m using Version 6.1.1 of WooCommerce.

We had something odd happen on a Simple product. We have inventory management enabled and set the inventory level at 24 seats for a workshop. One person accidentally purchased 3 seats in the workshop but the system only incremented 1 down. So… we oversold. We had 24 seats available with 24 people purchasing them but it sold 26 seats. So the system was counting number of orders instead of number of items purchased. I hope that makes sense.

Can anyone shed a little light on this? Should I have used a different product type?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @andreainblue,

That normally happens when you have another tool controlling the product stock quantity or it could be caused by a conflict with the theme or with another plugin.

You can perform tests on a staging site using the same product/stock quantity following the steps here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks, Mirko! I do have a plugin installed to optimally allow limitation on purchases of variable products. I wonder if that isn’t playing nice. I’ll work though the troubleshooting steps!
