 * Hello, I just installed the latest version of the Sitemap. I was using it previously
   and I have now got back to this sitemap. For some reason, it cannot see any posts
   in 2015.
 * [http://motoroctane.com/sitemap.xml](http://motoroctane.com/sitemap.xml)
 * and [http://motoroctane.com/sitemap-posttype-post.2015.xml](http://motoroctane.com/sitemap-posttype-post.2015.xml)
   is showing as empty, whereas it has posts that were written in 2015.

 * Are there very many posts in 2015? It might be a case of running into the server/
   hosting PHP memory limit. Try setting the option “Split by: Month” on Settings
   > Reading under the XML Sitemap settings.
 * Other thing I notice is that you are using WP Super Cache in Legacy mode but
   Late Init is not set. Is there any specific reason for using legacy mode? Is
   there any possibility to switch to the recommended PHP caching mode?

 * Thank you Ravan H for the response. I got it changed to month and even started
   PHP caching mode. However, now when I click on 2015 or any other year. It just
   opens the website than any sitemap.

 * So “Split by Month” works?

 * That’s strange. I have the sitemap plugin running on several sites with WP Super
   Cache in PHP mode and it works just fine. So the main sitemap.xml works while
   the others don’t? Have you tried clearing the cache?

 * It is now working. Cache wasn’t cleared. Thank you.

 * I got a new error from Google Webmasters:
    Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML
   page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead

 * There’s something else going on. Your sitemap index, the home, taxonomy and pages
   sitemaps work fine but strangely the post sitemaps get redirected to your homepage.
   This explains the HTML error for GWT.
 * Did you replace WP Super Cache with something else? I notice a server response“
   X-Cache:HIT from Backend” but also “Server:cloudflare-nginx” … are you using
   Cloudflare? Could any Cloudflare settings explain the redirects?
 * Or it might be your permalink structure. Could you tell me your exact permalink
   settings? I’ll try to reproduce this…

 * The WP Super Cache is still active. And Cloudflare has always been on.
    I think
   when I activate Yoast SEO, this error starts.

 * First make sure that in Yoast SEO the XML Sitemap option is switched off. Then
   please tell me your Permalink settings because there is something weird going
   on. I would expect [http://motoroctane.com/2016/](http://motoroctane.com/2016/)
   to show the 2016 archive but it gets redirected to the home page just as these
   yearly and monthly sitemaps.
 * Is there a plugin like Redirection running that does redirection based on regexp
   rules? Or a plugin that disables date archives?
 * Other questions: are you on an Apache or Nginx server? Are there any server rules(
   either in .htaccess or in your nginx conf files) that could explain the redirection
   of URLs with dates/numbers in them?

 * Hey RavanH
    Yoast Sitemap has been disable from the start. I had a ReDirection
   app that was disable and deleted a few months ago.
 * I’m running Apache. I don’t have any re-direct plugin, but this comes in function
   when I use Yoast for some reason.

 * OK, I’ll try to reproduce the issue. What are your Permalink settings?

 * Hi RavanH
 * My permalink setting is: /%category%/%post_id%-%postname%
 * Also, I have now deactivated CloudFlare. So I reckon that issue might not be
   the cause.

 * I tried with the permalink setting `/%category%/%post_id%-%postname%` and WordPress
   SEO enabled with default options on a test site but that does not create this
   issue.
 * Is there any particular SEO setting that might have to do with this? If you can
   create an export of the SEO settings (under SEO > Tools) you can send it to me
   via [http://status301.net/contact-en/](http://status301.net/contact-en/)

 * What is that? Did that modify your .htaccess file?

 * Hi RavanH
 * I have deleted Yoast SEO and all is working fine. I have deactivated post tags,
   still it is showing up in Sitemap and when you click it. It shows up 404

 * Hi, that was probably a (super)cached version. I’m not seeing the tags sitemap
   in your index any more.
 * BTW, I did not have time yet to further test your Yoast SEO settings but I did
   receive your e-mail and will do some further testing. If I find out more, I’ll
   let you know.

 * New issue: I have 4k+ tags, so it shows tags as empty when anyone clicks it.
