    Dear WPMU DEV,

    Hello! Hope you all are doing well.

    I am having an issue with the “Phone Field” when I set the validation to “National”; the field becomes unclickable and also it extends the border of the form on the left side_ as you can notice in the screenshot below:

    I tried it on different test websites and also in different forms, and no matter what country I select for national validation, the filed is deformed, not clickable and therefore not functional at all. (although the other forms of validation (i.e. International and Character Limit) work fine. But in my case, I only need to use the “national” type of validation).

    This seems more like a bug because the same field was working fine a few months ago. So, I suspect the recent updates may have caused this. Would you please look into this issue and possibly advise a quick fix for it as I will soon be moving my website to production.

    Thank you in advance for your consideration and assistance.

    Best regards,

    Pasha

    update:

    I just realized the issue is coming from the WordPress core itself in the recent updates, and it is not an issue relating to Forminator. For my website, the WordPress language is set to “Farsi”, and as soon as I changed it to “English”, I noticed that the “phone field” in Forminator was working fine as before. So, the WordPress recent core updates in Persian language must have caused this.

    I am marking the status of this thread as “Not a Support Question”. You may also wish to remove the thread if needed.

    Thank you and apologies.

    I turned off phone number validating in Forminator, because every update still some issue, so I wrote a php code with lot of functions, for eg. put a + sign to every phone field (woocommerce and forminator too), check country codes, correct mispelled local numbers, error message with defining the error (for eg. “minimum 12 characters, etc”.

    Hi @pashapaya,

    Trust you are doing good and thank you for reaching out to us.

    To take a closer look at the behaviour that you mentioned, I tried to replicate the issue on a test website at my end. I changed the language to “Farsi” in WordPress General settings, however, I was unable to replicate the issue with Forminator Phone field when “National” validation is enabled.

    Could you please share an export of the form so that we can take a closer look at this?

    Please share the export of the form using Google Drive or Pastebin.com. I hope the following documentation comes in handy: https://wpmudev.com/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#import-export

    Hello @wpmudevsupport14 (Nebu John)

    Hope you are doing fine, and thank you for your time and attention.

    Well, as I mentioned in my update to this thread, I am already convinced that the issue has nothing to do with Forminator plugin; it must be coming from WordPress recent core updates in Persian language. It is strange how it has not appeared to you in your replication because I just tried again on a brand new test website and the same issue appeared to me again. This is what I did:

    _ created a new test website. (English installation) + (2025 theme active)

    _ downloaded and installed Forminator + used the “contact” template

    _ changed the validation type in the “phone field” to “national”

    _ checked the form ==> showing fine without any issue (when site language is set to English by default)

    _ Then changed the language to “Farsi” in WordPress General settings

    _ checked the form again ==> showing the issue in the “phone field”

    _ to ensure, just switched the site language back to English, refreshed the page, and the form was again looking fine with the “phone field” functional and clickable as expected.

    (Note: I made sure that everything is up to date. Also, on this new test website, I did not install any other plugins. So, there must be no plugin or theme conflict causing this.)

    Here is the link to the test website and the form for you to see: https://testingsite.wuaze.com/

    And here is the export of the form as you demanded: https://pastebin.com/Yf3aLfeP

    Thank you again for your consideration.

    Best regards,

    Pasha

    Hi @pashapaya,

    Thanks for sharing the steps, I could replicate the behaviour and it appears its specific to RTL websites.

    For now you could try the following CSS which should fix the behaviour:

    .forminator-field--phone {
    padding-left: 0;
    }

    The above CSS can be added by editing your form under Appearance tab > Custom CSS section.

    We’ll be giving this a closer look to see if this could be fixed out of the box within the plugin side too.

    Nithin

    Hi @wpmudevsupport11 (Nithin),

    Hope all is fine with you.

    You’re welcome. Yes, that must be so.

    Thank you so much for your time investigating this case. I followed your advice and I am glad to see that the CSS could fix it. (although in the test website I previously provided, the fix was visible only in the preview, and on the web page it was not showing even after clearing cache on the site and the browser, but that is OK because it was just a test. On my own website it just worked!)

    So, I am closing this thread and marking it as “resolved”. Thank you so much for your assistance.

    Best regards,

    Pasha
