Issue with new PayPal Commerce

I have enabled the new PayPal Commerce through EDD and everything went smoothly as far as setting it up (no errors). However, even though the EDD screen says I can now accept credit card payments my customers can’t order. PayPal Standard has always worked fine, but the new EDD PayPal Commerce gateway isn’t working. My customers see the PayPal popup screen to add their credit card credentials but it times out and they can’t order. No matter how many times they try to order, it times out and they can’t finish the order. I have had to go back to PayPal Standard because PayPal Commerce just won’t seem to work and I’m losing business. Any ideas on how to stop this time-out issue? Thank you for any help.
