• This is part of troubleshooting a problem from:

I started a topic anew because honestly, I have tried everything and it seems thre is something about mod_rewrite that is not being obeyed. Mod_rewrite is installed on Apache. The server has since been restarted and yet, I still find myself unable to use anything other than default permalinks (ugly).

Im using a LAMP server and it is running webadmin. Not sure if that information is relevant.

  • have you checked everything? Like permission of .htaccess file, its location (should be in the folder where wordpress is installed) etc.

If yes, then consult your host. on LAMP, .htaccess must be obeyed.
