Support » Fixing WordPress » Issue with installing new plugins

  • Resolved jonasdueholm

Hi, I am working as an intern with the firm OOG Company, DK.

I am trying to update their SEO, as well as other elements, but cannot atm install any new plugins. I have admin access, and I am using the Version where I should be able to download and use new plugins.

I can see our current logins, and update them, but cannot download any new ones, like Yoast SEO, which I desperately need to continue my work.

Any advice you can give me to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated

    Kind regards

    Hi @jonasdueholm
Can you tell us what error are you getting while adding a new plugin?

Apart from that, Can you try adding your plugins via FTP.
    Please follow this guide –

It’s not that I am getting an error, the add new option isn’t available to make, like adding a new page is.

I can look into that guide, but would 100% prefer getting the plugins install through the regular channel.

Someone mentioned that I can get the network administrator to install plugins for me, how would that work?

I guess its your permission and user role issue.
What is your role in your site.
Just check from user and choose your profile.
You will get information about your role.
If you can manage everything as a role then you have maximum power.
But if you not contact with you site admin. Checkout the roles of wordpress

I seem to have found the issue. Thanks a lot for the help!

    Kind regards
