I’m currently experiencing an issue with the Google Site Kit plugin on my WordPress site. Despite having integrated Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with the plugin, the dashboards are not displaying any data.

I have followed the setup instructions carefully, and the GA4 property is tracking data correctly when I check directly in the Google Analytics interface. However, the Google Site Kit plugin dashboards remain empty. Additionally, I’ve noticed that the dashboards still seem to be pointing to the old analytics data instead of the GA4 data.

Is there a specific step I might be missing, or is there a known issue with the integration of GA4 and Google Site Kit that could be causing this discrepancy? I would greatly appreciate any guidance or insights on how to resolve this issue and ensure that the GA4 data is correctly reflected on the Site Kit dashboards.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

    Best regards,

Thanks for reaching out @marcellokera, hopefully we can determine what’s happening with your setup. In order to do so, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. If you click on the ”Source: Analytics” link within the Site Kit dashboard, do you see any recent data from the Analytics directly? I ask as Site Kit pulls information from a users Analytics account and displays it within the plugin dashboard.
    3. How long ago did you install and set up Site Kit on this website?

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

1 – Just answered the form.

2 – If I click on the analytics link throws me to the previous analytics account (NOT GA4)

3 – The plugin was installed at March 15, 2023

Thanks for the update. Based on your response and viewing your Site Health information, it looks like you don’t have GA4 reporting available at this time. This may be due to background updates not working. To solve this, please follow the steps below:

    1. Install and activate the WP Crontrol plugin
    2. Navigate to “Settings > Cron Schedules” and click on the “Cron Events” tab
    3. Scroll down to the googlesitekit_cron_update_remote_features hook event and click on “run now”
    4. Check do you have the option to enable GA4 reporting via your Site Kit settings, or share your Site Health information once more so I can check if this manual action forced this update

Let me know if you have any questions with the above. Note also that should background updates not be working as expected, you may see a notice stating this if visiting your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status).
