Issue with footer nested inside main box
-
Let me see how to put this correctly..
I have a site http://shippingandfreightresource.com on self-hosted WP using Fresh and Clean Theme by WPExplorer..
Currently the “footer” is nested INSIDE a “main” div.. I want this footer OUTSIDE the main div.. But i cannot seem to find the closing tag of the main div..
Below is the current html structure and the required structure.. I know that if I interchange positions 4 & 5 i will get the desired effect, but for the life of me, i cannot find where the closing div for the main is..
Current structure
<html>
<body>1. <div id=”main”>
2. <div id=”content” role=”main”> … </content>
3. <div id=”sidebar” > … </div><!– #sidebar .widget-area –>
4. <footer id=”colophon” role=”contentinfo”> … </footer><!– #colophon –>
5. </div><!– #main –></body>
</html>Required structure
<html>
<body>1. <div id=”main”>
2. <div id=”content” role=”main”> … </content>
3. <div id=”sidebar” > … </div><!– #sidebar .widget-area –>
4. </div><!– #main –>
5. <footer id=”colophon” role=”contentinfo”> … </footer><!– #colophon –></body>
</html>I have looked in header.php (the opening div for main is here), content.php, index.php, and all the php files that are there, but i cannot see where this closing div is, but when i view the source code for the site, i can see it..
Appreciate any help from anyone.. Thanks..

I’m sorry but as your chosen theme is only available for download behind a login, you will need to contact the theme’s developer directly for support.
Hi Esmi, the theme is free although it is only available to download behind a login..
I dont think they support any themes, there is not even an email id or method to contact them somehow..
There should be someone in this forum that could possibly assist with this, because WP.org has a vast experience with such types of issues.. Thanks..
The wordpress.org support forums are meant for the core application, themes and plugins that are distributed on wordpress.org. We do not support themes downloaded from elsewhere.
find the closing tag of the main div
this might happen in footer.php;
however, with several validation errors in your site involving unclosed divs, identifying the closing div for #main might indeed be difficult.
start by fixing the errors, possibly starting all-over with a fresh copy of the theme.
